AAVINET designed and installed an extensive CCTV system at Turtle Beach Resort in Mermaid Beach approximately 18 months ago. For a CCTV system’s longevity as well as keeping it running optimally, it is important and recommended to service the whole system (cameras, NVR, and connections) every 12 months.
Recently, we combined a scheduled service at Turtle Beach Resort with an expansion installation of 3 cameras, due to the resort making some changes to their set-up to cater for the fast approaching 2018 Commonwealth Games which will be held on the Gold Coast in April. Whilst the modifications being made for the Commonwealth Games are temporary, the changes will be incorporated into permanent facility expansion, therefore a permanent CCTV system expansion became necessary. The new cameras we installed are for different types of monitoring and therefore we used different cameras to best suit, as necessary, the different requirements. There is one outdoor vandal proof 4MP HD (High Definition) IP dome camera and the other two cameras are ultra HD turret cameras.
The original installation that AAVINET performed included a large NVR server to allow for future growth, so rather than having to upgrades any of the server equipment we were able to simply add the new cameras into the existing server set-up.
This sounds simple however, the installation was not without its challenges. Two of the cameras needed to be installed in rather difficult and remote locations and as a consequence, we had to drill through a number of metres of concrete to feed the cable through from the NVR server to attach to the cameras. After much dusty work, this was completed and all the new cameras are now up and running as required and the customer needs have been fulfilled.
